Osun Election Results Signal Tinubu's 2027 Presidential Loss

The Allied People’s Movement (APM) has declared that the results of the Osun State governorship election serve as a warning that President Bola Tinubu could face defeat in the 2027 presidential election against Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde. The APM noted that Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State defeated Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress in a closely contested election.

In a statement by National Publicity Secretary Yusuf Abubakar, the APM argued that the Osun election results reflect a decline in support for the APC and a rising demand for leadership change at the federal level. The party highlighted the negative reaction from voters towards APC leaders, including booing directed at Tinubu's associates, as evidence of public dissatisfaction.

The APM maintained that if economic hardships and poor governance persist, the Tinubu-led government would struggle to secure another term. Makinde, who has been governor since 2019, is set to run for president under the APM in 2027.
