Oyo APC Aspirants Reject Alli's Candidacy Claims for 2027

The G6 group of governorship aspirants in the Oyo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has publicly rejected Senator Sharafadeen Alli's assertion that he is the party's governorship candidate for the 2027 election. They stated that the APC has not yet produced a standard bearer and dismissed Alli's claims of reconciliation among aggrieved aspirants as premature.

In a statement released on Tuesday, the G6 group insisted on the necessity of a credible consensus process to select a candidate acceptable to the majority of party members. They expressed their commitment to the APC's success in the upcoming elections while emphasizing the need for a review of the current candidate selection process.

The group criticized Alli's claims as unfounded and accused him of attempting to impose himself on the party through propaganda. Their response followed Alli's comments during an interactive session organized by the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in which he discussed efforts to reconcile party members.
