Pantami Raises Security Concerns During Gombe Tour

Prof. Isa Ali Pantami, the former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, expressed security concerns regarding his tour in Gombe State, alleging intimidation from unnamed government officials.

His allegations were made during a statement issued on Tuesday following visits to Shongom, Kaltungo, and Billiri local government areas, where he met with political party leaders. Pantami claimed that his successful tour unsettled certain individuals who he accused of plotting to harm him.

He emphasized his constitutional right to move freely across the country, referencing Section 41(1) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Pantami also accused unnamed government institutions of daily intimidation and threats against his supporters.

He urged relevant security agencies to investigate these alleged threats and called on party leaders to support the Pantamiyya movement. Pantami, who has remained active in politics since leaving office, cited religious texts to encourage resilience against intimidation.
