Benue Pensioners, Okada Riders Back Alia's Re-election Bid

In a significant show of grassroots support, pensioners and Okada riders in Benue State have raised 50 million Naira to purchase re-election forms for Governor Hyacinth Alia ahead of the 2027 elections. The initiative was led by the Benue State Motorcyclists Hire Association (BEMOA), with Comrade Michael Vemb representing pensioners praising Alia's commitment to timely pension payments, which had been neglected by previous administrations for six years.

The association highlighted improvements in infrastructure and road safety as key reasons for their support. Governor Alia emphasized the importance of making tough decisions for the common good, referencing his administration's focus on reforms such as free primary education and the establishment of local industries.

The collective action of pensioners and Okada riders signals a strong desire among Benue's grassroots to continue supporting Alia's administration and its poverty alleviation agenda.
