Obi and Ameh Demand Credible Elections for 2027

On Saturday, during a thank-you tour in Ogugu, Olamaboro Local Government Area of Kogi State, Peter Obi, the Presidential Candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), and High Chief Peter Ameh, the party’s Kogi East Senatorial Candidate, urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to ensure the 2027 general elections are free, fair, transparent, and credible. Obi stressed the need for INEC to resist any manipulation of the electoral process and emphasized that the wishes of Nigerian voters must be respected.

He expressed concern over Nigeria's worsening economic and social conditions, advocating for visionary leadership to address these issues. Obi encouraged voters to protect their votes and choose leaders based on competence, capacity, character, compassion, and commitment to national development.

He highlighted the dire living conditions of Nigerians, particularly in rural areas, and the untapped agricultural potential that could alleviate hunger and poverty.
