Sowore Critiques Atiku's Presidential Ambitions for 2027

Omoyele Sowore, the presidential candidate for the African Action Congress (AAC), has publicly criticized the presidential aspirations of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, who is the presidential candidate for the African Democratic Congress (ADC). In a post on his verified 𝕏 account on Sunday, Sowore expressed skepticism about Atiku's ability to provide a new direction for Nigeria, questioning what he could contribute after spending decades in the political arena.

Sowore pointed out that Atiku has been involved in national politics since the 1980s and served as vice president for eight years under former President Olusegun Obasanjo. He specifically referenced the significant financial allocations to the power sector during Atiku's time in government, noting that despite these expenditures, millions of Nigerians continued to suffer from poor electricity supply.

Sowore concluded that Nigeria does not need a continuation of the same political elite, emphasizing the need for a departure from a system that has led to poverty, corruption, insecurity, and darkness.
