APC Demands Active Campaigning from Tinubu's Appointees

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has mandated political appointees serving under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to either engage in campaigning for the party's success in the 2027 general election or resign from their positions. This directive was issued by APC National Chairman Professor Nentawe Yilwatda on Wednesday in Abuja during a meeting with members of the Progressive Local Government Chairmen’s Forum, led by Dr Mustafa Jibrin.

Yilwatda stated that local government chairmen are better positioned to evaluate the political contributions of appointees in their communities. He asserted that all political appointees are inherently politicians and cannot claim to be technocrats while holding such positions.

Yilwatda emphasized the necessity of effective political mobilization for electoral success and encouraged appointees to actively participate in political activities. He assured the forum of the APC's support for their mobilization efforts, including the inauguration of state coordinators and a large-scale endorsement rally for President Tinubu.
