Adeola Promises National Teachers’ Policy Implementation

Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, known as Yayi, who is the APC governorship candidate in Ogun State, promised to fully implement the National Teachers’ Policy (NTP) if elected governor in 2027. He made this commitment during an interactive session with teachers' unions, including the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) and others, held at the Ake Pavilion in Abeokuta.

The teachers expressed their support for Adeola's candidacy, citing his previous initiatives, such as covering WAEC and JAMB fees for indigent students and facilitating bursary and scholarship awards for tertiary students. Union leaders, including NUT Chairman Noah Sewakanu, ASUSS Chairman Felix Agbesanwa, and ANCOPSS Chairman Alaba Olugbenle, urged Adeola to prioritize teacher welfare and ensure prompt payment of gratuities.

The State Commissioner for Education, Prof Abayomi Arigbabu, praised Adeola's teacher-friendly approach and assured that the next administration would build on the foundation laid by Governor Dapo Abiodun. Adeola acknowledged the teachers' support and reiterated his commitment to the NTP, aligning it with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda.
