Senators Urge Tinubu to Replace Kwara APC Candidate

In a significant political development, three serving senators and four members of the House of Representatives from Kwara State have appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to intervene in the crisis within the All Progressives Congress (APC) regarding the governorship candidacy. They are calling for a comprehensive review of the recent primaries, arguing that the current candidate, Salihu Danladi, is not capable of delivering victory in the 2027 elections.

The stakeholders expressed concerns that the APC risks losing its position in Kwara State if urgent steps are not taken to address internal divisions. A strategic meeting held in Abuja included prominent APC figures such as Saliu Mustapha and Abdulfatai Gambari, who reaffirmed their loyalty to Tinubu's administration.

They warned that the APC in Kwara is facing serious internal challenges that could weaken its electoral chances, particularly due to the alleged sidelining of major stakeholders by Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq. The appeal emphasizes the need for a reassessment of the primary results to restore unity and confidence among party members.
