Melaye Urges Tinubu to Prepare for 2027 Election Loss

Dino Melaye, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), stated that President Bola Tinubu and his family should prepare to vacate the Presidential Villa in anticipation of the 2027 general elections. During an interview with Arise TV on Monday, Melaye expressed confidence that the ADC would defeat the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), attributing this to growing public dissatisfaction with the Tinubu administration.

He criticized the government's handling of budgets, claiming that despite borrowing funds, essential obligations remained unfulfilled, and highlighted issues such as hunger, insecurity, and corruption as factors contributing to the disconnect between the government and citizens. Melaye also condemned remarks made by Tinubu that he interpreted as endorsing electoral malpractice, asserting that such statements were inappropriate for a President.

He concluded by asserting that the ADC's strategy was straightforward, emphasizing the people's desire for change and predicting a shift in government following the 2027 elections.
