Opposition Parties Unite Against Tinubu for 2027 Elections

Dino Melaye, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), revealed during an appearance on Arise Television that opposition political parties are currently engaged in discussions to unite against President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 elections. He noted that Peter Obi, the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, and Donald Duke from the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) are both willing participants in these talks.

Melaye expressed confidence that the opposition would form a broad coalition, stating, “We may not get 100% of everybody on board, but the majority of the opposition will come together and send Tinubu and the APC packing.” He dismissed the ruling party's perceived advantages, asserting that Nigerians are ready to vote out the APC due to dissatisfaction with the current government. Melaye claimed that President Tinubu is aware of his precarious position and is receiving intelligence reports indicating that his administration's time is running out.
