Suleja Coalition Demands Niger East Senate Seat for 2027

The Suleja Youth Coalition has formally demanded the Niger East senatorial seat for the 2027 elections, claiming 27 years of marginalization since the return to democracy in 1999. The coalition, comprising 30 youth organizations, expressed their concerns during a meeting in Tafa Local Government Area.

They argue that the current political representation has denied Suleja its rightful position in the Senate since 1999, with previous occupants including Idri Ibrahim Kuta, Awaisu Kuta, and David Umaru. The coalition's spokesman, Comrad Shehu Hassan, emphasized the need for equitable rotation of the senatorial seat, which encompasses three local government areas: Suleja, Tafa, and Gurara.

They are urging Niger State Governor Moham Umaru Bago to consider their demands for the 2027 elections. Additionally, the coalition endorsed Bago for a second term and Bello Bawa Bwari for the Niger East senatorial seat under the APC platform, citing Bwari's track record and involvement in youth projects.
