Adebayo Calls Tinubu-Shettima Ticket a "Zero-Zero Ticket"

On Tuesday, Adewale Adebayo, the presidential candidate for the Social Democratic Party (SDP), declared that the Tinubu-Shettima ticket should not be labeled a "Muslim-Muslim ticket," but rather a "zero-zero ticket." He asserted that Nigerians are more interested in having righteous leaders who are qualified for the job, rather than those emerging based on religious sentiments. During an appearance on a morning television show, Adebayo criticized the notion of a Muslim-Muslim ticket, stating that it creates a perception of defrauding the populace by leveraging religious sentiments.

He emphasized that the concept of a Muslim-Muslim ticket does not align with justice and fairness, citing the lack of support for such a ticket among Nigerians. Adebayo also referenced the family of Nasir El-Rufai, indicating that they do not support the Muslim-Muslim ticket, which he described as ironic given the context of political representation in Nigeria.
