UNIZIK Alumni Association Advocates for Credible 2027 Elections

The Nnamdi Azikiwe University Alumni Association called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies to ensure a credible 2027 general election. This appeal was made during a road walk for good governance and credible elections in Abuja, part of the activities for its 2026 International Convention.
Global President Prof. Ikechukwu Umeh emphasized that democracy functions effectively only when citizens engage in the electoral process. He urged political parties, INEC, and the electorate to fulfill their legal responsibilities during the elections.
Dr. Obinna Uyaemezina, Chairman of the 2026 Nnamdi Azikiwe University Alumni International Convention Planning Committee, stressed the need for INEC to strictly follow electoral rules and called for support to conduct free and fair elections. Mrs. Nonye Umeodika, Chairperson of the FCT Chapter, urged security agencies to avoid corruption and ensure voter confidence.
Stanley Nwosu, Chairman of the Media and Publicity Sub-Committee, described the road walk as part of the advocacy for transparent governance and a credible electoral process.
