Experts Urge INEC to Ensure Credible Elections for 2027

During the graduation ceremony of set 25 and matriculation of set 27 at the African Centre for Leadership, Strategy and Development (Centre LSD) in Abuja, Dr. Otive Igbuzor, the Founding Executive Director, underscored the necessity for people-centered leadership in Nigeria. He stated that citizens require security, jobs, education, healthcare, and infrastructure rather than mere campaign promises.

Dr. Sam Amadi, the guest speaker, highlighted the relationship between leadership, development, and elections, asserting that good elections are crucial for good leadership. He urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to focus on preventing rigging by desperate politicians, emphasizing that free and fair elections are essential for Nigeria's future.

Amadi noted that INEC has made progress but must enhance its efforts to ensure a transparent electoral process. He expressed confidence in INEC's ability to deliver credible elections, which are vital for maintaining democracy in Nigeria, particularly with the upcoming 2027 general elections.
