Makinde Vows to Reject Electoral Fraud in 2027 Elections

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde stated that he and the opposition will reject any attempts to manipulate the electoral process for the 2027 elections. He warned against suppressing the will of the people, asserting that the outcome of the elections must reflect the voters' wishes.

Speaking in Bauchi during a closed-door meeting with Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, Makinde described Nigeria's current political climate as toxic, labeling it one of the darkest periods in the nation's history. He expressed optimism for a new political dawn, stating that the People's Democratic Party (PDP) is confident that Nigerians will make their voices heard in the upcoming elections.

Makinde also addressed recent security challenges in Oyo State, noting that the state has enjoyed relative peace for over seven years, with security incidents occurring only recently. He emphasized the need for a campaign based on sound ideas and effective leadership as the opposition prepares for the 2027 elections.
