Presidency Labels Peter Obi "Clueless" Ahead of 2027

The Presidency has criticized Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), calling him "clueless," "overhyped," and "overrated" in light of the upcoming 2027 general elections. Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, made these remarks on Saturday via a post on X, questioning Obi's qualifications for the presidency based on his tenure as governor of Anambra State.

Onanuga described Obi as a "spectacular failure" during his governorship and dismissed the belief among Obi's supporters that he could effectively govern Nigeria. He emphasized that governance requires more than popularity, stating that a credible record of governance is essential for any presidential aspirant.

Onanuga criticized Obi for frequently changing his positions and suggested that his worldview is influenced by social media. This criticism comes amid heightened political activity and opposition rhetoric as the 2027 presidential election approaches.
