25-Year-Old Man Stabbed to Death in Bauchi Altercation

On August 22, 2026, at approximately 2300 hrs, the Bauchi State Police Command reported the stabbing death of 25-year-old Mohammed Musa from the Bayan Bata area of Bauchi. The incident arose from a heated altercation between Musa and another individual, Abubakar Abdullahi, also from Bayan Bata.

According to SP Nafiu Habib, the police's Public Relations Officer, during the confrontation, Abdullahi allegedly used a knife to stab Musa. Following the incident, Musa was rushed to Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital, where he was pronounced dead by the attending physician.

Police operatives from 'A' Division Township responded promptly, arresting Abdullahi and recovering the knife as evidence. The body of the deceased has been placed in the hospital mortuary for an autopsy.

The case will be forwarded to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation and potential prosecution. Commissioner of Police CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu has mandated a thorough investigation to ensure justice.
