Army Lieutenant Felix Adem Isaac Killed in Oyo Operation

Lieutenant Felix Adem Isaac, aged 28, was killed during a rescue operation aimed at freeing 44 abducted pupils and a teacher in Oyo State. The operation took place on July 10, 2026, and was confirmed by military sources.

Isaac, born on August 25, 1997, was laid to rest with full military honors at the 23rd Armour Brigade cemetery in Yola, Adamawa State. Reports indicate that the convoy he was part of hit an explosive device set by terrorists in the area, specifically linked to the Ansaru terrorist group, which was identified as responsible for the abduction.

Although Isaac was not directly involved in the rescue operation that yielded results two days prior, the Nigerian Army had issued a statement emphasizing the careful planning of the operation to avoid collateral damage and ensure the safety of the innocent children and teacher. The operation involved ten security agencies and was led by Major General Chinedu Ralph Nnebeif, the General Officer Commanding the 2 Division of the Nigerian Army.
