Three Police Officers Injured in Osun NURTW Shooting

On Monday at approximately 5:30 PM, the Osun State Police Command received a distress call regarding a group of hoodlums firing shots in the Oke-Ijetu area of Osogbo. In response, a team from the Anti-Robbery and Violent Crime Response Unit (VCRU) arrived at the scene, where they encountered individuals believed to be part of a faction led by Wakili Alowonle.

During the confrontation, three police officers sustained various degrees of gunshot injuries and are currently receiving treatment at a hospital. The police Public Relations Officer, Abiodun Ojelabi, reported that one suspect, Adedeji Saheed Opeyemi, was arrested during the incident.

Opeyemi confessed to being armed with a gun provided by an associate named Sibi, who had come from Ife garage. He is currently assisting the police with investigations aimed at apprehending additional suspects.
