33 Ships to Arrive at Lagos Ports with Essential Goods

The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) announced that 33 vessels are expected to arrive at Lagos ports, specifically Apapa, Tin Can Island, and Lekki Deep Sea Port, between February 22 and February 27, 2026. These ships will bring various cargoes, including petroleum products such as petrol, diesel, and crude oil, as well as essential food items like bulk soybean and fresh fish.

The arrival of these vessels is anticipated to provide relief to consumers facing shortages of essential goods and to positively impact the local economy. The NPA noted that the recent surge in cargo traffic at Lagos ports has prompted efforts to improve port efficiency, including the implementation of a new electronic call system for truck arrivals.

Among the expected arrivals, 17 ships will carry different goods, including bulk wheat, soybean oil, and sugar. The NPA urged stakeholders to take advantage of the expected arrivals to restock and meet customer demand.
