37 Students Missing After Borno School Terror Attack

On a Monday, a terrorist attack occurred at Government Day Secondary School in Lassa, Askira Uba Local Government Area, Borno State, resulting in 37 students still unaccounted for, according to parents. The attack took place around 9 AM during the National Examinations Council (NECO) examinations, leading to the deaths of two teachers and an unspecified number of student abductions.

Military personnel from the North East Joint Task Force, led by Captain Muham Goni, reported that two security personnel, including a soldier and a member of the Civilian Joint Task Force, lost their lives during rescue operations. Troops managed to rescue 10 victims unharmed.

Parents, including Mbula Bura, whose 19-year-old daughter Esther is among the missing, have registered their missing children with the Borno State Government. Emmanuel Dari reported that his 16-year-old daughter, Luci, was taken during the attack.

The Borno State Government has initiated a registration process for families to report missing persons.
