37 Children Missing After Borno School Terror Attack

On Monday, a terrorist attack on a secondary school in Lassa, Askira Uba Local Government Area, Borno State, led to the abduction of an unspecified number of students and the deaths of two teachers. Parents reported that 37 children are still missing, including 19-year-old Esther Mbula and 16-year-old Luci Emmanuel.

The Borno State government has opened a registry for families to report missing persons. The Nigerian Army confirmed the rescue of 10 victims, including teachers and students, during military operations in the area.

Capt. Muham Goni stated that the operation involved ground troops and air support, which successfully made contact with the abductors.

The military also engaged in firefights, resulting in the recovery of seven motorcycles from the terrorists. Efforts to locate the remaining missing children continue, with the state government assessing the situation.
