500 Islamic Clerics Endorse Tinubu for 2027 Election

Over 500 Islamic scholars, preachers, and clerics from the Northern region have endorsed President Bola Tinubu for a second term in the 2027 presidential election. This endorsement occurred after a closed-door meeting that included six Northern APC governors: Umar Namadi (Jigawa), Abba Kabir Yusuf (Kano), Mai Mala Buni (Yobe), Ahmad Aliyu (Sokoto), Uba Sani (Kaduna), and Dikko Radda (Katsina), along with Deputy Senate President Jibrin Barau and President Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Political Matters, Ibrahim Kabir Masari.

The specific agenda of the meeting was not disclosed, but it is reported that the clerics' endorsement is part of efforts to bolster support for Tinubu's administration and engage influential Muslim scholars ahead of the elections.
