5,441 Students Shortlisted for Yayi's Scholarship Awards

The Solomon Olamilekan Adeola scholarship and bursary awards have shortlisted 5,441 students for the 2025/2026 academic year. The selection process, confirmed by a statement from the board's secretary, Dapo Ok, followed a thorough evaluation of 12,000 applications.

Of the shortlisted candidates, 1,735 are eligible for scholarship awards, while 3,706 qualify for the bursary scheme. The bursary beneficiaries include 2,026 candidates from Ogun West Senatorial District, 946 from Ogun Central, and 734 from Ogun East.

Specific breakdowns show that Ogun West has 308 beneficiaries from Ado-Odo/Ota, 302 from Imeko/Afon, 500 from Ipokia, 465 from Yewa North, and 451 from Yewa South. The scholarship category includes 425 beneficiaries from Ado-Odo/Ota, 186 from Imeko/Afon, 493 from Ipokia, 361 from Yewa North, and 270 from Yewa South.

The board noted that several applications were disqualified due to irregularities, including submission of fake academic records and identification certificates. Successful candidates will be invited to an award ceremony, with the date to be announced later.
