Ijebu Obas Endorse Yayi and Adegunwa for Ogun 2027

On July 10, 2026, the Ijebu Traditional Council, represented by Oba Lawrence Jaiyeoba Adebajo, endorsed Olamilekan Adeola Solomon, popularly known as Yayi, and Alhaja Kudirat Adegunwa as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates for the Ogun State gubernatorial election in 2027. This endorsement occurred during a meeting at the Awujal Palace in Ijebu Igbo, where 56 traditional rulers were present.

The council expressed confidence in Adeola's capabilities, citing his character, intelligence, and leadership skills as essential for the role. Governor Dapo Abiodun, who attended the meeting, praised Adeola as a worthy successor and emphasized the importance of continuing the developmental trajectory established during his administration.

The council pledged to support Adeola's candidacy, aiming to improve the fortunes of Ijebuland and Ogun State as a whole.
