An assessment by the trophy's manufacturer concluded that it could not be restored to its original condition, which is necessary to maintain the trophy's significance and integrity as a prestigious title in sports. The original trophy, which is 75 cm tall and made of silver, was created in 2015 and reflects the evolution of the tournament, which includes six teams since Italy joined in 2000.

The trophy will be retired in a ceremony, and a new trophy will be designed using original materials to ensure historical respect is maintained. The new trophy is expected to take 365 hours to create and will be unveiled ahead of the 2027 championship.
