60-Year-Old Man Found Dead in Dutse Hotel Room

A 60-year-old man was reported dead in a hotel room in Dutse, Jigawa State, after checking in with a 20-year-old woman. The incident occurred on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at approximately 12:50 p.m.

According to SP Shi’isu Adam, spokesperson for the Jigawa State Police Command, the man developed a medical emergency after requesting a meal and began gasping for air shortly after it was served. Police officers from the Yalwawa Division responded to the distress call and transported the man to General Hospital, Dutse, where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators secured the scene and collected food items, beverages, a suspected sexual enhancement substance, and personal effects for examination. The 20-year-old woman is cooperating with the investigation, providing information to clarify the events leading to the man's death.

The Commissioner of Police assured the public of a thorough and impartial investigation and urged against speculation that could hinder the inquiry.
