Investigation Launched After Man Dies in Dutse Hotel

The Jigawa State Police Command has initiated a comprehensive investigation into the death of a 60-year-old man who died in a hotel room in Dutse, the state capital. The man, whose identity remains undisclosed, checked into the hotel on Tuesday with a 20-year-old woman.

He reportedly suffered a medical emergency shortly after requesting a meal. Police spokesperson SP Lawan Shiisu stated that officers from the Yalwawa Police Division responded to a distress call and transported him to General Hospital, Dutse, where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators secured the hotel room, recovering food items, beverages, a suspected sexual enhancement substance, and personal belongings for forensic examination. The 20-year-old woman has been cooperating with investigators, providing information to help reconstruct the events leading to the man's death.

The police clarified that she has not been arrested or declared a suspect, emphasizing that the investigation is ongoing and urging the public to avoid speculation.
