Nigerian Government Backs Soye for Miss World 2023

The Nigerian government has expressed its support for Tamunosoye Karibi-George, known as Soye, who is representing Nigeria at the 73rd Miss World Festival in Vietnam. On September 5, 2023, Hannatu Musawa, the Minister of Art, Culture and the Creative Industry, called on Nigerians to cast their votes for the 26-year-old contestant.

Musawa praised Karibi-George for winning the Africa's Top Model title and reaching the Top 40 in the competition, describing these accomplishments as sources of national pride. She emphasized the urgency of the voting process, noting that only nine hours remained at the time of her post.

Musawa encouraged citizens not only to vote but also to mobilize support for the Nigerian representative, highlighting the significance of her participation on both national and international stages.
