AUPCTRE Elects Comrade Eugene Manji as New President

The Amalgamated Union of Public Corporations, Civil Service, Technical and Recreational Services Employees (AUPCTRE) held its 7th Quadrennial National Delegates Conference in Kano, where Comrade Eugene Manji was elected as the new National President. The election, which took place on Wednesday, produced several other National Executive Officers, including Comrade Uzu Fidelis and Comrade Ibrahim Kirfi as National Deputy Presidents, and various National Vice Presidents representing different zones.

The election was supervised by the Registrar of Trade Unions, who praised the delegates for their orderly conduct. In his acceptance speech, Comrade Manji expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him and his team, emphasizing a commitment to serve and enhance the union's effectiveness.

This conference also marked the end of Comrade Benjamin Anthony's eight-year leadership, during which he successfully stabilized the union and resolved significant disputes, including a three-year industrial conflict with the Corporate Affairs Commission.
