NECO's Wushishi Elected AEAA Vice-President, 2027 Host

Prof. Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi, the Registrar/Chief Executive of the National Examinations Council (NECO), has been elected as the Vice-President of the Association for Educational Assessment in Africa (AEAA).

This decision was made during the 42nd Conference of the AEAA held in Arusha, Tanzania. Additionally, NECO has been granted the rights to host the 2027 AEAA Conference from August 16 to 20, 2027, in Abuja, Nigeria.

Mr. Sani Azeez, Acting Director of Information and Public Relations at NECO, stated that these developments signify Nigeria's increasing recognition in educational assessment, particularly in light of digital transformation and artificial intelligence integration.

Since becoming NECO Registrar in 2021, Wushishi has implemented reforms to modernize examination administration and expand NECO's international presence, with examinations now conducted in eight foreign countries. His reappointment by President Bola Tinubu earlier this year was viewed as an endorsement of his reforms.
