Delta Police Arrest 81 Suspected Criminals in Asaba Raid

The Delta State Police Command arrested 81 suspected criminals during a raid on criminal black spots in Asaba, the state capital, on Friday. The operation was disclosed by the command’s spokesman, Bright Edafe, and was part of a strategy to dismantle criminal networks.

The raid, led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Department of Operations, involved tactical teams responding to credible intelligence. The arrested suspects included 50 males and 31 females, apprehended for various offenses such as the sale and possession of suspected illicit drugs and establishing an illegal checkpoint at the Asaba-Onitsha Head Bridge.

During the operation, large quantities of Tramadol and substances suspected to be Indian hemp were recovered. Additionally, five vehicles were impounded for violations, including operating an unauthorized taxi park at Pinnacle Junction along Okpanam Road and facilitating the sale and distribution of illicit drugs in the area.
