Tinubu Expected to Secure Northern Votes in 2027

Bello Matawalle, the former governor of Zamfara State, stated that President Bola Tinubu will receive overwhelming support from the northern region in the 2027 elections, believing that the northern electorate will not repeat the divided voting seen in 2023. Matawalle emphasized that Tinubu's administration has made significant strides in addressing insecurity and developing infrastructure, which resonates positively with northern voters.

The Northern Elders Progress Movement, represented by Secretary General Mallam Yusuf Abubakar, commended Tinubu for his efforts in tackling insecurity and fostering political cohesion. Additionally, the Christian Northern Nigeria Progress Forum, led by Chairman Ibrahim Gabriel Itodo, urged political leaders to respect the unwritten power rotation agreement between the north and south, advocating for Tinubu's re-election to ensure political stability.
