Abbas Dissolves All Ad Hoc Committees of House

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, has officially dissolved all ad hoc committees formed by the 10th House, including the committee chaired by Yusuf Gagdi, which was investigating issues related to the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council. This dissolution was communicated through a memorandum issued by the House leadership and signed by the Clerk, Sidi Ibrahim.

The memo, titled “Dissolution of all Ad hoc Committees of the House of Representatives,” was directed to the chairmen and members of the affected committees and took effect on Friday, August 28, 2026. Abbas stated that the dissolution follows previous announcements urging committees to complete their assignments and submit reports, with only two committees receiving extensions that have since lapsed.

The memo emphasized that ad hoc committees are temporary and should not exist beyond their designated mandates. Consequently, all activities related to these committees will cease immediately, and chairmen are instructed to submit all outstanding documents to the Clerk's office for safekeeping.
