Oyo Deputy Governor Assures Rescue of Abducted Students

Oyo State Deputy Governor Adebayo Lawal visited communities in Oriir Local Government Area affected by a recent school abduction incident. He assured parents and community members that the abducted students will be rescued, stating that the figures circulating in the media regarding the number of abducted individuals are unverified.

Lawal confirmed that one teacher lost their life during the attack, but the exact number of abducted individuals has not been confirmed. The attack targeted several schools, including La Basic School and Ahorodada.

Lawal noted that the state government, led by Governor Seyi Makinde, is committed to ensuring the safety of its citizens and has deployed security forces, including the Police Department and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, to pursue the kidnappers. He urged residents to remain vigilant and report any unusual movements to security agencies.
