Wike Declares Abdulrahman Mohammed PDP Chairman

On Wednesday, during a media chat in Abuja, Nyesom Wike declared Abdulrahman Mohammed as the legitimate chairman of the People's Democratic Party (PDP). Wike's statement comes amid ongoing internal crises within the party, particularly following the emergence of factions supporting different leaders.

He criticized the rival faction led by Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, which has gained traction since the party's split over the 2023 presidential candidacy of Atiku Abubakar. Wike's faction, which includes Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, is preparing for a convention in Ibadan, where they aim to elect a new National Working Committee (NWC) led by Turaki.
