Engineers Inspect Lower Usuma Dam for Sustainability

On Thursday, engineers from the Nigerian Institute of Civil Engineers (NICE) Abuja Chapter conducted a technical inspection of the Lower Usuma Dam. The visit, led by Chapter Chairman Adelek Shola Ayanronk, aimed to highlight the dam's strategic role in supplying water within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The inspection was designed to strengthen members' understanding of engineering infrastructure operations and maintenance processes. Ayanronk emphasized the importance of gaining firsthand knowledge of the dam's structural components and operational systems, applying key hydraulic structural engineering principles relevant to large-scale water projects.

The exercise provided a platform for professional interaction and knowledge sharing among engineers, aligning with NICE's commitment to continuous professional development and adherence to best practices. The chapter acknowledged the support of the board's management engineers, including Adelek Stephen, Adedapo Abubakar, and Ubal Grant, who facilitated technical guidance during the inspection.
