Abuja School Unveils Africa's First AI Tutor "Mr Okeke"

Whiteplains British School in Abuja has launched "Mr Okeke," the first AI tutor in Africa, as part of its extracurricular measures. Proprietor Dr Francis Nwufoh stated that this innovation aims to enhance personalized learning, improve academic performance, and support teachers without replacing them.

The AI teacher operates on a vast global knowledge base, making it a significant educational tool. Dr Nwufoh emphasized the importance of adapting to international standards and noted that the AI technology could help students pursue various careers.

Mr Onos Edokpolor, the school's ICT trainer and developer, explained that "Mr Okeke" provides an engaging learning experience by combining education with entertainment, allowing students to interact with a fictional character. This approach reduces pressure on students and encourages curiosity.

The AI teacher is designed to teach both international and Nigerian curricula, and the school aims to maintain its reputation as a top-notch educational institution in Africa.
