Traffic Disruption on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway Due to Accident

On Wednesday, vehicular movement was significantly disrupted on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway following a lone accident near the Kara Bridge area. Emergency responders initiated recovery operations, which temporarily halted traffic along the affected section.

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) confirmed via its official X handle that the recovery operation was ongoing, leading to delays for motorists as officials worked to clear the obstruction. The traffic backlog extended to New Garage and beyond, particularly affecting those traveling towards Ogun State.

However, LASTMA reported that motorists coming from Mowe-Ibafo towards Lagos faced no major challenges, as that route remained free-flowing. LASTMA urged motorists to exercise patience and cooperate with traffic officials during the recovery process.

Additionally, LASTMA provided an update on another incident involving a fallen containerised truck at Cater Bridge, which had been successfully evacuated, allowing normal traffic flow to resume. Authorities advised road users to remain cautious and adhere to traffic regulations during emergency situations.
