Accord Party Warns Sacked Osun APC Officials to Vacate Secretariats Following Court Nullifications

The Accord Party has issued a statement directing the sacked chairmen and councillors of the APC in Osun State to vacate the local government secretariats. This action comes after court judgments nullified their elections, with the latest ruling upholding the decision made in February and June of 2025.

Maxwell Mgbudem, the Nation Chairman of the Accord Party, emphasized that the tenures of the APC officials expired in October 2025, making their continued occupation of the council offices illegal. The Accord Party accused the sacked officials of seeking to extend their tenures through court delays and condemned their occupation of the secretariats as an assault on Nigeria's democracy.

Governor Ademola Adeleke also reiterated that the APC officials have no legal mandate to remain in office, urging them to respect the rule of law and vacate the premises. The Accord Party further called on the federal government to release allegedly withheld statutory allocations to ensure efficient governance at the grassroots level.
