Action Alliance Candidate Calls for End to Banditry in Nigeria

Adekunle Omo-Aj, the presidential candidate for Action Alliance in the 2027 general elections, urged the government to intensify efforts to end banditry, kidnapping, and terrorism across Nigeria. Speaking on Democracy Day, he stated that the dividends of democracy remain incomplete unless citizens can conduct their daily activities safely.

Omo-Aj noted that Nigeria is celebrating 26 years of uninterrupted democratic rule, yet regions like North West and North Central continue to grapple with insecurity, economic hardship, and inadequate infrastructure. He argued that the last two decades of democratic governance have not significantly improved the living conditions of ordinary citizens.

Omo-Aj identified poor road networks, unreliable electricity supply, and inadequate water infrastructure as major obstacles to development. He called for prioritizing infrastructure investment and adopting measures to stimulate job creation, particularly for small and medium enterprises.

He warned that without safety, efforts in agriculture, education, and healthcare would remain constrained, leaving communities vulnerable.
