ActionAid Advocates for Sustainable Reintegration Strategies

ActionAid Nigeria (AAN) advocated for sustainable reintegration strategies that encompass psychosocial support, trauma-informed approaches, case management, and reintegration programming during a five-day capacity-building training for Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) in Abuja. Suwaiba Dankabo, Deputy Country Director and Director of Programmes at AAN, stressed the importance of enhancing CSOs' capacities to provide responsive and impactful services.

She noted that sustainable reintegration involves addressing the psychological and social dimensions of individuals affected by displacement, migration, and crises. Dankabo commended CSOnetMADE for organizing the training and acknowledged GIZ for its donor support.

Amb. Catherine Udidah, Director of Migrant Affairs at the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons, praised AAN's initiative and emphasized that reintegration should consider the psychological impacts on returnees.

She encouraged participants to engage actively in the training to apply the knowledge gained within their communities.
