Adamawa State Boosts Healthcare with IOM and JICA Training for 219 Workers

Adamawa State enhances healthcare by training 219 frontline workers in collaboration with IOM and JICA. The training, held in September 2025 across nine local government areas, aimed to equip healthcare workers with practical skills to improve services for vulnerable populations affected by conflict and displacement.

This initiative is part of a project launched in March 2024 to strengthen primary healthcare services in the state. The training focused on enhancing the technical skills of nurses, midwives, laboratory technicians, and community health workers.

Additionally, the American University of Nigeria (AUN) in Yola is working to build and upgrade nine primary healthcare centers to bridge the healthcare gap in the region.
