ADC Represents Atiku Abubakar at National Peace Accord

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) confirmed its participation in the National Peace Accord signing held in Abuja, represented by its National Legal Adviser, H.E. Professor Oserheimen Osunbor, due to the absence of its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

The event took place on Tuesday, organized by the National Peace Committee, led by former Head of State Abdulsalami Abubakar, in collaboration with The Kukah Centre. The peace accord aims to ensure that political parties and candidates engage in peaceful and issue-based campaigns, rejecting violence, hate speech, misinformation, and the misuse of artificial intelligence for disinformation.

President Bola Tinubu, who was also absent, was represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, who conveyed the President's message urging politicians to prioritize Nigeria's interests over personal ambitions. The signing of the accord precedes the official commencement of campaigns for the 2027 presidential and National Assembly elections.
