ADC Names Chris Uba as Presidential Candidate for 2027

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has officially named Chris Uba as its presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections after concluding its nationwide primary elections. The announcement was made by the faction led by Bala Gomb, who also presented 29 governorship candidates across six geopolitical zones in Nigeria.

The primary elections were held across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory. Uba emerged as the sole presidential candidate after a consensus option was adopted, allowing other aspirants, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Rotimi Amaechi, and Moham Hayatu Deen, to withdraw in support of him.

The party emphasized adherence to the principles of equity and fair inclusion in its selection process, in compliance with the Electoral Act 2026 amendments. The ADC aims to ensure credible and constitutionally compliant candidates across various electoral positions, having successfully concluded its primary elections in a peaceful and transparent manner.
