Adeleke's Spokesman Threatens ₦10bn Suit Over Defamation

Pelumi Olajengbesi, the campaign spokesman for Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, has issued a threat to Senator Francis Fadahunsi, who represents the Osun East Senatorial District, regarding a potential ₦10 billion lawsuit for defamation and injurious falsehood. This threat follows statements made by Fadahunsi during live interviews on Viable TV on July 2, 2026, and Channels Television’s Politics Today on August 11, 2026.

Olajengbesi's lawyer, Hammed Lasisi, sent a letter dated August 12, 2026, demanding a retraction and public apology within 24 hours. Fadahunsi allegedly claimed that Olajengbesi was not from Ijebu-Jesa and accused him of using thugs associated with cult groups Eiye and Aye.

Olajengbesi has denied these allegations, asserting they are false and severely damaging to his reputation as a legal practitioner and public figure. He emphasized that he has never engaged with any cult groups or authorized any acts of terror.
