Adeleke's Camp Threatens ₦10bn Lawsuit Against Senator

The camp of Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has issued a threat of a ₦10 billion lawsuit against Senator Francis Fadahunsi for alleged defamatory remarks made about Pelumi Olajengbesi, Adeleke's campaign spokesman. The legal demand, articulated by Olajengbesi's lawyer, Hammed Lasisi, requires Fadahunsi to retract his statements and issue a public apology within 24 hours.

The letter, dated August 12, 2026, cites comments made by Fadahunsi during two television appearances: one on Viable TV on July 2, 2026, and another on Channels Television’s Politics Today. The statements allegedly questioned Olajengbesi's identity and linked him to criminal activities, specifically suggesting he was involved with cult groups.

The letter asserts that these remarks have harmed Olajengbesi's reputation and created a false impression of his character. Following Fadahunsi's recent comments on Politics Today, the legal threat was reiterated, emphasizing the serious implications of the allegations on Olajengbesi's personal and professional life.
