Adeleke Celebrates Court Victory, Urges Mobilization Ahead of Election

Ademola Adeleke, the Osun Accord governorship candidate, celebrated a significant victory following the Court of Appeal's affirmation of the party's legal standing. In a statement on his X account on Tuesday, Adeleke described the ruling as a triumph for democracy and the rule of law, urging party members and supporters to intensify grassroots mobilization ahead of the Osun State governorship election scheduled for August 15.

He expressed gratitude to supporters for their resilience amidst attempts to create confusion around the party. The Court of Appeal, in a ruling delivered by a three-member panel led by Justice Abba Mohammed, nullified a previous Federal High Court judgment that ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission to deregister the African Democratic Congress and four other political parties.

The appellate court found that the lower court lacked jurisdiction and that the deregistration order was based on an incompetent suit filed by a non-juristic entity.
