Adeleke Declares Public Holiday for PVC Collection

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke announced a public holiday on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, to facilitate the collection of Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs) by civil servants and public workers ahead of the governorship election. The announcement was made in a statement by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, emphasizing the importance of encouraging eligible voters to complete the PVC collection process before the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) deadline.

The holiday aims to increase voter participation by allowing those unable to visit collection centers during working hours to obtain their cards. The state government clarified that essential service workers, including medical personnel and security operatives, would continue their duties to ensure critical services remain operational.

Governor Adeleke urged all eligible citizens, including civil servants and informal sector workers, to collect their PVCs promptly, highlighting the significance of the upcoming election for Osun State's future.
